You're not imagining it. The cost of everyday essentials is making it harder for families to make ends meet. From coffee (up 33%) to vegetables (up 40%), runaway price growth for necessities is outpacing wage growth for most families. We call this #Trumpflation.
While some politicians make promises about lowering costs, their policies often make things worse. Chaotic tariffs, cuts to essential programs like Medicaid and SNAP, and tax breaks that benefit the wealthiest few put the squeeze on the rest of us.

The #Trumpflation project is a campaign designed to shift the national narrative. For too long, the conversation about the economy has been dominated by abstract numbers and political talking points that ignore the reality families are facing.
We're changing that by bringing forward the truth.
We are crowdsourcing the real-life economic data that families see every day. By asking people across the country to take a picture of a too-high price tag or bill and post it with the hashtag #Trumpflation, we are creating a powerful, visual story of what's really happening in our communities.
3Our Economist: Grounding Stories in Facts
To connect these personal experiences with the big picture, we're working with Kathryn Anne Edwards, PhD.
Kathryn is a labor economist and independent economic policy consultant who specializes in making complex economic issues understandable. As she says, "My agenda is for you to be informed. I talk about the economy in a way to get you to understand."
Throughout this project, Kathryn will provide regular, data-driven analysis that explains how we got here, busts economic myths, and grounds our shared stories in hard facts. Her expert commentary helps separate political noise from economic reality, empowering all of us to advocate for real solutions.
